Adur & Worthing PoliceGood Afternoon Resident, July marks the start of Operation Spotlight, a campaign focused on raising awareness of the five main factors that contribute to fatal and serious injury collisions on our roads. On Tuesday the Fatal 5 team carried out a speed enforcement operation on Littlehampton Road, Worthing and Old Shoreham Road, Lancing, targeting roads where speeding has been identified as a concern by the local community. The results were concerning. The highest speed recorded was 42mph. The highest speed recorded was 70mph. All offences were recorded using a TruCam II Laser speed camera, which captures evidence without requiring officers to stop vehicles at the roadside. Drivers identified will be dealt with through the appropriate process, which may include a speed awareness course or prosecution. These figures highlight why speed enforcement remains a priority. Please help keep our roads safe by slowing down, sticking to the speed limit and encouraging others to do the same.
